Glenville, WV – The 2009 Glenville State College Homecoming Court has been announced. This group will be actively participating in all upcoming Homecoming activities scheduled for the week of October 19th through 24th. The King and Queen will be crowned at the Coronation ceremony being held on Thursday, October 22nd at 5:00 p.m. in the Luanna Smith Amphitheatre; the rain location will be the Harry B. Heflin Administration Building Presidents Auditorium.
The 2009 GSC Homecoming Court is as follows: Freshman Prince Justin Blankenship of Braxton County and Princess Nora Kinnison of Nicholas County, Sophomore Prince Matthew Thompson of Kanawha County and Princess Jessica Stout of Braxton County, and Junior Prince Akheem Figgs from New Oakland, California and Princess Autumn Davis from Los Angeles, California.
The three candidates for 2009 GSC Homecoming King are Joshua James of Braxton County, Ryan Deems of Harrison County, and Gabriel Gibbs from Detroit, Michigan. The three candidates for 2009 GSC Homecoming Queen are Jessica Jaffre of Gilmer County, Donita Adams from Germantown, Maryland, and Kristy Arrington from Orlando, Florida. All members of the court were nominated by student organizations across campus such as Chi Zeta Pi, Student Support Services, the Science Fiction and Fantasy Guild, and many more.
The 2009 GSC Homecoming Court Attendants are as follows: four-year-old Taylor Jenkins who is the daughter of Jeffrey and Brandy Jenkins of Glenville, four-year-old Emily Lewis who is the daughter of Onick and Mendi Lewis of Glenville, six-year-old Joshua Gragg who is the son of Stephen and Melody Gragg of Glenville, and five-year-old Grant Sterns who is the son of Bryan and Teresa Sterns of Grantsville.
Nominated by the sorority Chi Zeta Pi, Sophomore Marketing Major Matthew Thompson said, “Being chosen as part of the 2009 GSC Homecoming Court here at Glenville State College is such an honor. It is great to be able to represent my organization and be remembered as part of the festivities for years to come.”
